THE WORLD'S FAVORITE PIZZA STYLE
I've adapted this super delicious, authentic pizza style to a recipe designed for the home oven.
All you need are these 6 ingredients.
Start with a single room temperature dough ball at rest for 1-2 hours. Carefully remove it and place it onto a pile of semolina flour.
STEP 1
Carefully work the dough ball into a disc by pressing the air from the middle to the edges. Don't press the crust, let it puff out.
STEP 2
Using a pizza peel, slide the dough onto a hot pizza stone. Par-bake for 30-60 seconds, just long enough to remove it in one piece.
STEP 3
Add high quality San Marzano tomato sauce. Put back on pizza stone and bake just long enough for sauce to begin steaming. Remove from oven again.
STEP 4
Add pecorino or parmigiano reggiano cheese. Next tear chunks of fresh mozzarella and spread evenly around crust. Add fresh basil. Drizzle extra-virgin olive oil.
STEP 5
Remove when cheese begins to bubble rapidly. Mozza should be melted not burnt or crusted over. Bottom crust should have light brown spots.
STEP 6
