Equipment

  • Mixing bowl
  • Whisk or spoon
  • Airtight jar or spice container

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons dried oregano
  • 2 tablespoons dried basil
  • 1 tablespoon dried thyme
  • 1 tablespoon dried rosemary
  • 1 tablespoon dried marjoram
  • 1 tablespoon dried parsley (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional, for heat)

Instructions

  • In a small mixing bowl, combine dried oregano, dried basil, dried thyme, dried rosemary, dried marjoram, and dried parsley (if using).
  • Add garlic powder and crushed red pepper flakes (if using). Stir or whisk until the herbs are evenly combined.
  • Transfer the seasoning blend to an airtight jar or spice container. Label it with the date and store in a cool, dry place.
  • Use as needed to season pasta sauces, marinades, soups, roasted vegetables, or pizza dough.

Notes

Grinding the herbs in a mortar and pestle or spice grinder creates a finer texture that’s perfect for rubs or blending into sauces.
