Equipment

  • Whisk
  • Mason jar or small bowl

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup olive oil
  • 1/4 cup red wine vinegar
  • 1 clove fresh garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon honey (or sugar, optional)
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1–2 tablespoons water (optional, for thinner consistency)

Instructions

  • In a mason jar or small mixing bowl, combine olive oil, red wine vinegar, minced garlic, dried oregano, dried basil, Dijon mustard, and honey (if using).
  • Whisk vigorously or seal the jar and shake well until the ingredients are fully combined and emulsified.
  • Taste and adjust seasoning with salt, pepper, or additional honey as needed. If the dressing is too thick, whisk in 1–2 tablespoons of water to reach desired consistency.
  • Serve immediately or store in the refrigerator for up to one week. Shake or whisk again before each use.

Notes

For a creamier dressing, add a tablespoon of grated Parmesan cheese. Try swapping red wine vinegar for balsamic or white wine vinegar for a flavor twist!
